Service Details

We strive to provide individualized services to every client; as such, no two evaluations are the same. However, there are some elements that are similar or are included with all services, including:

  • In-depth clinical interview with our doctoral-level provider
  • Cognitive and psychological (neuropsychological) assessment
  • Feedback with our provider, so that you understand the results AND recommendations, and have an opportunity to directly ask questions
  • Providing clients with a copy of the finished report, which can be provided to your medical doctor, school, work, or external therapist.

To make our evaluations accessible to more people, we have a two-phase approach to testing.

Phase 1 - Short Evaluation

Every client will participate in a “brief” evaluation first. This will include:

  • Interview - First, we gather information about your concern and background, such as medical history
  • Brief testing - May include cognitive testing and/or psychological testing
  • Feedback - We review the results and further recommendations for care. We will discuss whether more cognitive testing is needed to better understand your concern or difficulty

Sometimes, all that we need to understand your problem is more brief testing. This service includes a brief report dictating the findings and recommendations. A short evaluation may be sufficient for ADHD evaluations, simple psychological evaluations, cognitive concerns that are due to normal aging, certain types/severity of dementia, and capacity evaluations.

Phase 2 - Neuropsychological Evaluation

Those who have more complex problems-- and for whom additional cognitive testing would allow us to provide detailed recommendations-- may undergo more in-depth testing. This will include:

  • Interview - As necessary, to gather more information
  • In-depth neuropsychological/cognitive evaluation - Usually 3-4 hours of testing
  • Feedback - An in-depth review of all testing results and personalized, detailed recommendations to address all aspects of physical, mental, psychological, behavioral, and social health

This service includes a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation report and our in-depth, individualized recommendations addressing all factors which could be impacting cognitive health and functioning.

This type of testing is appropriate for certain cognitive problems needing more testing, certain types of dementia, traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and certain other medical problems.
